Keeping Your Card's Integrity
A credit card is a sensitive item that needs care and attention in order to keep its structural integrity. In this day and age where the norm is plastic transactions, a credit card's information may be lost in an instant. This would in turn result in lost credit opportunities or much worse financial loss. So to avoid this, here are some simple tips to take care of your credit card.
1) Keep it in a separate case
This is for the men who keep car insurance quotation wallets in their back pockets. By doing this, the cards become deformed and at worse break into two pieces. Thus, keeping the cards that you have in a separate case and kept in your front pants pocket or in your jacket would keep the card safe and prevent breakage.
2) Avoid magnets and other electrical equipment
The information in a credit card is not in the front of the card but is contained in the magnetic strip at the back of the card. Thus, the card must be shielded from magnets or magnetism generating items because once exposed to their magnetic field, the contents in the strip align to the field and thus the information contained within is lost. So it is best to avoid these items when carrying your cards.
3) Keep it nice and dry
If your card gets wet, then the magnetic strip's integrity is destroyed at fluid exposure. So when using your card, take it out at the last minute. Furthermore, avoid handing your card but rather place the card on a plate so that the card would be nice and dry at all times.
